Gaming Mode Review Of realme Buds Q
As you might already know, "Quite Stylish. True Wireless"is the official tagline for the newly launched realme Buds Q. Buds Q comes with quite stylish Cobble Design and is completly seamless when it comes to connecting them.
Today, I'll be reviewing the Gaming Mode of the realme Buds Q.
Before discussing this mode, let me brief you about what Latency means and how it is important during gaming.
What is Latency and how it is Important during gaming?
Latency is the delay between the video on screen and the audio signal sent from your phone to the amplifier on your earphones.
Latency is much lower in wired connection, as the signals have to travel through a single medium only. But in case of wireless earphones, the signals have to first get encoded and then transmitted via Bluetooth, then decoded and then sent to the amplifiers of the respective buds which causes a slight delay in the signal. Due to this lag, we experience a sudden delay in the actual video and sound which is unpleasant during gaming sessions since even a slight delay in sound can be a cause to lose the game.
How did realme bring down the latency?
realme is able to bring down the latency with the help of new components and features added in their buds. One being the realme Buds Q powerful R1Q chip, which promises better sound quality and lower latency. Also, the realme Buds Q support AAC HD Audio Codec [works with compatible devices only] and DBB Solution, which further aids in reducing the latency. realme’s R1Q chip supports dual-channel real-time transmission technology, and the two buds can stay connected to the phone independently. Moreover, the Gaming Mode drastically reduces the latency to 119ms. The result is a perfect sync between audio and visuals while watching movies or playing games. realme Buds Q also comes with the support of the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology straight out of the box which also helps in an enhanced connection quality & stability
The Super Low Latency Gaming Mode
As I explained above, Gaming Mode is a solution to the latency issues with TWS earphones. It’s very simple to enable Gaming Mode in the realme Buds Q. All you have to do is to touch both the buds for 5 seconds to enter Gaming Mode. You’ll get a sound notification of an engine starting which sounds really cool. Also, repeat the same to get out of Gaming Mode. This time around you get sweet music as a notification. You can also check my entire post on the realme Buds Q if you want to know more about the touch controls here. The gaming mode works by putting into effect the dual transmission. This helps in enhanced connection and better flow of audio Signals.
My gaming experience
◾️ PUBG and COD Mobile
In First Person Shooter games like PUBG and COD, audio matters a lot and some delay can kill your player in the game, as in these games, the enemy's footstep sounds can help you get those close-combat kills. My experience while playing PUBG and COD Mobile using realme Buds Q's Super Low latency Mode did create a difference in my performance in the game. The audio quality was superb! I was easily able to hear those footsteps and gunshots.
In each mode of PUBG, like Classic, Arcade, Arena & PlayLab, the gaming mode works great and help us get a real-time audio experience.
In the COD Mobile all types of game modes with realme Buds Q low latency mode, I was able to clearly hear footsteps, thus, was able to react quicker. I was able to play for longer hours, thanks to the light-weight buds. The latency was never a problem with the gaming mode enabled. The audio was always in sync with what was shown on screen and the experience was exactly real-time. I also used voice and I never faced any issue when talking with teammates, thanks to the mic.
◾️ Alto's Adventure
I also played Alto's Adventure game with low latency mode and it worked perfectly. No lags and the audio quality of realme Buds Q was also great.
◾️ Hitman Sniper
I also played Hitman sniper which demands quick response and with the realme Bud's Gaming Mode, it was easy for me to hear the target and find out who was altering the guards, in order to kill them.
◾️ Asphalt 9: legends
Asphalt 9: Legends is a very interesting and addictive racing game with great graphics, cool animations and beautiful in-game music. With the realme Buds Q, I could enjoy the in-game music which was bassy and crisp: thanks to 10mm large dynamic bass boost drivers. Listening to the in-game music was a different level of fun. Just like PUBG and COD, latency was never an issue.
Conclusion
I personally feel that these earbuds are just the best in the price they come at ₹1999. The sound is clear and crisp, latency is very low and it gives you an immersive experience while gaming. realme Buds Q has the Super low latency if you compare them with any TWS earphones in the price range or even more expensive ones. Generally, TWS earphones are never recommended for gaming, but these can be used for casual gaming. The experience is not the same as using wired earphones/headsets, but let’s be fair, they don’t provide you with the comfort these buds do as these are so lightweight and come with excellent sound quality. If you are looking for comfortable truly wireless earbuds for listening to music and casual gaming, I highly recommend the realme Buds Q.
That’s it for my review on the gaming mode of the realme Buds Q.
Until I see you in the next one, take care, peace.
